Who We Are
Specializing in ink and washi prints, Suzume Fine Art Studios showcases the work of contemporary artist Sara Trappett.
“For decades I have been captivated by the artistic heritage of Japan, particularly the aesthetic concepts of Kachoufugetsu 花鳥風月 (lit. “flower, bird, wind, moon”) and Shunkashugetsu 春花秋月 (lit. “spring flowers, autumn moon”). These expressions respectively refer to the beauty of the natural world and the elegance of the changing seasons.
My work seeks to pay homage to these concepts by using a blend of traditional and modern materials to render the elements of nature in such a way as to celebrate the deep symbolic meaning that they hold in Japanese culture.”
